Chelsea Winter's Chicken Fettuccine

22 October

Hello Trying something new can be daunting, but so often a little risk is worthwhile. Take Claire Aldous' latest Friday Baking recipe for example – she'd never made anything quite like it before but it was wolfed down within miniutes of bringing it into the office. Also, Tom Hishon of Orphan's Kitchen tried his first hangi earlier this month, which you can read about below. If you're feeling brave yourself, you could try Olivia Galletly's spectacular Rhubarb and Strawberry Layer Cake or try your hand at making your own wontons (recipes below).
Online Editor,
RECIPE

Almond and Chocolate Tart with Pistachio Cream

This isn't Claire Aldous' regular style of baking but it was certainly enjoyed by all at the office. A rich, avocado based chocolate mousse fills a chewy almond and date tart case and gets topped with a pistachio cream, fresh blueberries and juicy pomegranate seeds.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Layer Cake

Everybody needs a showstopping celebration cake up their sleeve, and the beloved spring combination of strawberries and rhubarb look and taste fantastic in this decadent but light layer cake. If you can't get your hands on the rose Pashmak Persian fairy floss that I've used, pink flowers will look just as pretty.
