‘Gourmet experience at book launch for The Akaroa Cooking School.’

Akaroa is a special place and in the five years that Lou and Ant Bentley have run their cooking school there, the picturesque settlement has become a destination for international and Kiwi foodies.
Voted 4th best place in the world to learn to cook local cuisine by Lonely Planet, this week, Lou and Ant opened the doors to their eponymous cooking school; not to run a cooking class, but to launch their first cookbook – The Akaroa Cooking School: Great recipes for a great way of life, which has just been published by HarperCollins.

Lou and Ant couldn’t have asked for a more pristine spring evening on which to celebrate with their 80+ guests, who happily gathered to toast the couple and the launch of their book.
And then there were all those delectable canapés to savour, all of which are featured in The Akaroa Cooking School.
The fact that more than 100 books were sold on the night, is testament to how enticing, inspirational and accessible the recipes are for the home gourmet. Prawn and Chorizo Skewers anyone?
