Walker Books partners with bakery

Independent publisher Walker Books is partnering with London-based bakery Gail's Artisan Bakery for a series of storytelling sessions, starting 11th June.

For the first event, professional storyteller Vanessa Woolf will read from Petr Horáček’s latest picture book, The Mouse Who Ate the Moon, which is published by Walker tomorrow (5th June).

Other Walker books will be read at further sessions, which will take place every month at the bakery.

The scheme will also promote local bookshops and the first independent bookshop taking part is Pickled Pepper Books in Crouch End. The bookshop will offer loyalty cards meaning anyone who buys a book can get a coffee free at Gail’s.

Jill Kidson, consumer marketing manager at Walker Books, said she was “thrilled” to work with Gail’s. “We’re continually looking for fresh and fun ways to share the love of books and reading, and what could be better than the combination of bread and books.”
